ps3 wii xbox 360 comparison
Should I buy an XBox 360 Elite?

I have a PS3 and a WII but I’ve been really wanting to play Halo and other games exclusive to the XBox. All my friends say they love it even more than the PS3 (which I don’t understand), but then online everyone says that they’re kind of cruddy in comparison. Also what would be the cost for everything total?

You can get away with an Xbox 360 Pro 60GB (the ELite has a 120GB hard drive).

Unlike the PS3, you don’t have to install your games onto the hard drive to play – it will run off the gamedisc, however you do have the option to install the gamedisc onto your hard drive which will make the very noisy DVD silent durent gameplay. I have an Elite with 6 games installed plus maps DLC and some videos – still have 80GB free.

The PS3 games are very different to Xbox 360, if you like multiplayer then the Xbox 360 will be a very different experience for you. Xbox Live integration is much, much better but you will require GOLD subscription (buy a scratchcard online for cheaper annual subscription).

The PS3 isn’t a bad machine at all, but I prefer the types of games that are exclusive on the Xbox 360, I’m not into stealth games so I’m not a fan of Solid Snake (lots of beautiful CGI but disappointing gameplay, same goes for Drake).

You’ll need the 1) Xbox 360 60GB console, 2) Gold subscription of which one month’s free trial is included with your console, 3) Halo 3 ODST game etc.

Assume you already have a broadband internet subscription if you’ve tried online play with your PS3. You can also trade-in your PS3 and games – but do it SOON before the PS3 Slim is launched as it will make your hardware pretty much worthless in trade.
